*Please note that we are only in the office three times per week. We make every effort to return phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner. If your e-mail is of an urgent nature, please contact our Community Coordinator, Ann Mary Dykstra, or our Executive Director, Laurel Hoekman.


Visit our Office:

Everyone is welcome to visit during our "open" times (see below) to peruse our bookstore, borrow items from our resource library, and talk with staff. If these times do not work for you, please contact info@thegraycenter.org to arrange another time to visit.

Note: We occasionally have to close our office due to dangerous weather conditions or staffing conflicts. Please check this web site for updates prior to visiting our office, or call 616-954-9747 to determine whether we are open.

WEATHER POLICY:

  • If a TORNADO WATCH is posted for Kent County within 1 hour of programming at The Gray Center, the program will be CANCELLED.
  • If a weather watch or warning is posted for Kent County during programming:
    • Children's programs will continue until parents have come to pick up their children
    • Adult programs will continue until the Gray Center staff decides to close the office
    • Open hours will continue until the Gray Center staff decides to close the office
  • In case of WINTER WEATHER conditions, if most area schools are closed (particularly Grand Rapids Public, Kentwood Public, Forest Hills Public, and Byron Center Public), The Gray Center will be CLOSED. Watch WOOD TV for confirmation of the closing, or check our web site.
